Parisa Yousef Doust

In ‘About A Girl Called Connection’ werkt Yousef Doust met de Napolitaanse actrice Velia.

She investigates the role of memory, language and objects in the creation of new ties and/or the re-creation of lost ones. Her films explore the differences arising from the search for reference points, both at social and cultural levels. In ‘About A Girl Called Connection,’ Yousef Doust collaborates with the Neapolitan actress Velia. Incorporating elements of fiction and documentary, Yousef Doust creates a character who is looking for a Neapolitan photo frame to hold a photograph of a child, an image that triggers many memories for her. At another level of the film, this new character gradually takes shape through references to the 1980 earthquake in Naples and to Western cultural icons.
